Former K-League players appeared in Yongsan, Seoul on Wednesday to serve as soccer teachers for children. They have not only turned into soccer teachers on this day, but also met children through K-League Futures.
The K-League-EA Sports FC Futures Soccer Festival took place at Sports Field in Yongsan Children's Garden on the day. The festival was co-hosted and organized by the Korea Professional Football Association under the sponsorship of EA Korea.
Among the festivals, which are diversely composed of skill training, games, and various events, the important part was the time when retired K-League players provided basic skills "one-point lessons." Four young coaches in their 30s who played in the K-League until relatively recently provided short but effective education to children. They are Kim Hyun-hoon, a former member of Gwangju FC and Suwon FC, Park Joon-hee, a former coach of Pohang Steelers, Lee Joon-hee, a former coach of Daegu FC, and a coach of Gyeongnam FC.
They are not coaches who came unilaterally on this day alone, but meet children through K-League Futures on a regular basis. Futures is a program that provides education, culture and environment for children to enjoy and learn soccer. The Korea Professional Football Federation and EA started for sustainable youth soccer from November 2023.
Through Futures, the professional federation and the Ministry of Education signed a business agreement in November 2023 to support "Early Spring School and School Sports Revitalization." The festival, which began as part of that, was successfully held for the second time this year following last spring.
Futures started out as a business where soccer manuals and programs can be viewed by anyone. At that time, K-League star strikers Na Sang-ho and Lim Sang-hyup filmed shooting and dribbled videos and provided them as audiovisual materials for children. Futures Academy, which provides textbooks and training programs, was conducted as a systematic training to distribute customized youth programs to lightbulbs.
Since November last year, the school has successfully run "Children's Soccer Class" for elementary schools in Seoul, Incheon, and Gyeonggi Province (Suwon, Gwangmyeong, Hwaseong, Bundang, etc.). A total of 5,500 students participated in the class through about 300 events. It also donated K-League-branded training tools to schools participating in the soccer class.
Hiring former coaches is also characterized by job support for retired players. A retired K-League player served as a coach for the "K-League Children's Soccer Class." In addition to coaches participating in the festival, Park Dae-han, Seungho Choi, and Lee Ji-woo served as coaches.
Futures coach Kim Hyun-hoon smiled after giving the children ball control classes at the festival, saying, "The children's concentration is really good even though they are not elite, but hobby class children and lower grades are mixed." 토토사이트
Coach Kim Hyun-hoon said, "I think it is a good intention. Festivals like today will remain a good memory for a long time," adding, "When I visit a school during after-school hours, it is an opportunity for professional students to learn from professionals, so children have high expectations and show their commitment. Teaching at children's level can also be taught at their children's level."
